All Aboard: Belize in Motion through the Years

From dugout canoes of the ancient Maya, to pit-pans and riverboats, from railways for logging to the first airplanes- come aboard and experience the thrill of Belize in motion through the years.

Witness the influx of new modes of transportation that led to the expansion of agriculture and trade, and the development of communities. Meet the people traveling throughout the country and overseas for work and pleasure. Come along on a journey up the rivers and across the land, a journey into Belize’s past.

This exhibition, developed by the Museum of Belize and the Belize Archives and Records Service, features documents, photographs, and historical objects that chronicle the development of transportation in Belize.

The exhibition has been opened since October 31st 2013, and is ongoing. The Museum of Belize opens Tuesday – Saturday each week and schools are reminded to book visits in advance.
