The Museum of Belize is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
Each year, ICOM celebrates Museums around the globe with a special day for museums to promote their work within society.  The International Museum Day is held on May 18th annually but cam be celebrated before or after with various events around the theme.  This year’s theme was ‘Museum collections make connections’.
The Museum of Belize had a week of activities celebrating the event from May 12th -16th.  Schools were invited to participate in a dynamic and engaging tour based on the importance of our collections and then they joined in activities that allowed them to make connections with the objects.  This year the Museum of Belize was featured in ICOM’s IMD press kit.
