The Banquitas House of Culture, opened on September 19, 2002, is a key cultural center in Orange Walk, Belize, managed by the Museum of Belize and Houses of Culture. Located along the New River, it features permanent and temporary exhibits showcasing the history of Orange Walk from the Maya era to the present and includes an amphitheater for performances, a restaurant, and facilities for open-air events. Historically, the site, known for its “banquitas” or little benches where locals gathered, later served as a market and government offices before becoming the House of Culture.
