The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) is Belize’s premier cultural institution. Its various divisions include the Institute of Archaeology (IA), Institute of Creative Arts (ICA), Institute for Social and Cultural Research (ISCR) and Museum of Belize & Houses of Culture (MOB – HOC). These divisions maintain an open and collaborative approach to cultural heritage and arts promotion, management and cultural safeguarding with its various stakeholders.

The Belize National Celebrations Theme in commemoration of our 43rd Anniversary of Independence was unveiled by the Hon. Francis Fonseca, Minister of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign. Trade, Education, Culture, Science and Technology and Chair of the Belize National Celebrations Commission. The national celebration’s theme for 2024 is: “A Nation Proud and Free: Belize @ 43”. Out of an incredible 615 entries, David Watson from San Pedro Village in the Corozal District submitted the winning theme.
