The site of Cerro Maya is located on the southeastern end of the Corozal Bay. The is notable as being part of an important coastal trading network that linked the New River to the Chetumal Bay. Archaeological research also suggests that the site’s architecture served as an astronomical observatory.

Open every day, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, including on Sundays and Public & Bank holidays
Last Tour for the day: One (1) hour before closing

Wear outdoor-appropriate footwear for rugged terrain
Remain on demarcated trails
Use handrails where provided
No loud noise, shouting or music permitted
No jumping permitted on monuments
Maximum of 15 visitors allowed per Tour Guide
Be prepared with insect repellant (Eco-friendly preferable)
