One of the only sites to retain s original Maya name ‘LAMANAY” or ‘LAMA’ ANAYIN’. Lamanai has one of the longest occupation spans dating from 1500 B.C. to the present Historical occupation is also represented by the remains of two contact period Spanish Churches & a British Sugar Mill.
