The Institute for Social and Cultural Research produces and supports the development of educational materials on Belize.
The A Walk Through series is one of our signature publications. The series highlights key historic landmarks and places of memory within Belize’s municipalities. So far, we have produced a volume on Belize City, San Ignacio and Santa Elena, Dangriga and Benque Viejo. Volumes on Punta Gorda and Orange Walk are currently in development.
Other publications include our annual Research Reports in Belizean History and Anthropology.
Community and NICH-supported Publications:
In support of the Belize book industry, ISCR provides various levels of support to local authors and organizations seeking to publish literature on Belize’s culture and history.
Two of the most recently supported initiatives are The Healing Circle (2017) by Myrna Manzanares and Azizi Hoy and Belizean Storytime (2017) by Sherlet Neal Lopez.
To purchase a copy of these publications, please contact us or visit the nearest NICH branch in your area.
